1. Who we are

L-Wiz is provided by TMR Technologies Cyf, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17512799), whose registered office is at 94 Marble Hall Road, Llanelli, SA15 1NH (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at [email protected].

These terms apply whenever you use L-Wiz, with or without an account. By creating an account or subscribing you agree to them.

2. What L-Wiz is, and what it is not

L-Wiz is a research tool for reading and comparing UK legislation and case law. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create a solicitor–client or any other professional relationship with us.

We work hard to present the law accurately, but texts may be incomplete, out of date, converted imperfectly from their original format, or described by metadata (such as judges, parties, dates and subjects) that was extracted automatically and may be wrong. Some records show only that a document exists and that we do not hold its text. Before relying on anything for advice, a filing or a decision, check it against the official source.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address; there is no password. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your inbox secure. An account is for one person. You can be signed in on up to three devices at once; signing in on a fourth signs out the oldest.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms (section 8), and will tell you why unless the law or a security reason prevents us.

4. Free use

You can search and read on L-Wiz free, within a daily allowance. We may change the free allowance, and what is included in it, at any time.

5. The Individual plan

The Individual plan costs £6.99 a month, including VAT where it applies. It gives you cloud sync for your highlights, notes and workspaces, and a larger daily allowance than free use. It is offered to customers in the United Kingdom.

Payment is taken in advance each month by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Your plan renews automatically every month until you cancel. If we change the price we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and your plan stays active while it does. If it cannot be collected, your plan ends.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account (Your plan → Manage subscription), without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal: your plan stays active until the end of the month you have already paid for, then ends. We do not refund part-months except where the law requires it.

Your 14-day right to cancel. Your plan starts straight away. When you subscribe, you ask us to give you access immediately and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right to cancel for a refund once access begins. You can still cancel future renewals at any time, as above.

Nothing in these terms affects your other legal rights as a consumer.

7. Your notes and data

Your highlights, notes and workspaces are yours. By default they are kept only in your browser. If you turn on cloud sync we store them so they follow you between devices; turning it off deletes our copy. Files you open in the workspace from your own computer stay on your computer and are never uploaded to us.

8. Using L-Wiz fairly

You agree not to:

• download, scrape or copy material in bulk, or access L-Wiz by automated means other than features we provide for that purpose;
• resell, redistribute or build a competing service from L-Wiz or its contents;
• share your account, or try to get around the daily allowances or the device limit;
• interfere with L-Wiz, probe it for weaknesses without our permission, or use it unlawfully.

9. Rights in L-Wiz and its contents

The L-Wiz software, design and our own descriptions and arrangement of documents belong to us. Legislation and judgments shown in L-Wiz remain subject to the rights and terms of the bodies that publish them, and you must use them on those terms.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep L-Wiz available and accurate but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that materially reduces what the Individual plan gives you, we will tell you and you may cancel.

11. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

We are not responsible for loss caused by relying on L-Wiz's contents without checking them against the official source (section 2), or for loss we could not reasonably have foreseen. If you use L-Wiz for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Ending this agreement

You can stop using L-Wiz at any time, and cancel your plan as described in section 6. We may end your access on 30 days' notice, refunding any part of a month you have paid for and will not receive, or immediately if you seriously break these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
